Community Arts Development for Nonprofit Organizations Presenting the Arts in Harford County, Maryland

Organizations may submit one Community Arts Development grant application to Harford County Cultural Arts Board per year.

Grant awards are announced with a mailing that includes a contract. Agreement is not final until a signed and witnessed contract is returned to Harford County Cultural Arts Board by specified date.
Organization must have been both incorporated in Maryland as not-for-profit and have received tax exempt status from the U. S. Internal Revenue Service. Units of government, colleges, and universities are also eligible to apply.
Arts Programming Grants may be used for the direct costs associated with arts programming. Organizations may request a grant value of up to 1/2 of total expenses. Expenses may not include capital projects or purchase of major equipment. Programming may not be a fund-raising activity.
Arts programming must benefit the citizens of Harford County, Maryland
Must comply with Title VI, Section 601, of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IV, Section 1681, of the Education Amendments of 1972, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Section 6101; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. These state no persons, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age or his or her handicap shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination related to, the arts.
Must maintain complete and accurate records of all activities and operations connected with the grant. Harford County Cultural Arts board reserves the right to request financial reports or other documents relating to operations or activities at any time.
All arts and cultural programs of the organization must be submitted to the Cultural Arts Calendar as soon as dates are scheduled. Contact Arts@HCPLonline.org with technical questions.
If the organization requires tickets to arts programming, a minimum of two tickets for each event shall be made available to Harford County Cultural Arts Board.
Interim reports must be filed with the Harford County Cultural Arts Board within 30 days after receipt of first payment. Second payment will be withheld until report it made. Failure to report may jeopardize any future grant being received by the organization and may result in the organization being required to repay grant funds.
Final reports must be filed with the Harford County Cultural Arts Board within 30 days of completion of all activities under the grant, but always by August 1, 2017, whichever is sooner. Failure to report may jeopardize any future grant being received by the organization and may result in the organization being required to repay grant funds.
If a significant change is made in any Harford County Cultural Arts Board-funded organization, program or project, the Board must be notified in writing as soon as possible or no later than August 1, 2017.
Must give credit to Maryland State Arts Council and Harford County Cultural Arts Board whenever and wherever credit is being given – verbally, in print, and/or electronically.
On printed materials - logos and credit line must appear.
On electronic documents (website, email, etc.) - logos and credit line must appear, plus a link to both websites (MSAC.org and CulturalArtsBoard.org)
